Office of controller of certifying authorities, Government of
India, insisted to not to issue Class-2 and Class 3 DSCs (Digital Signature
Certificate) without token. Class 1 DSC can be issued as soft copy (without
token) only after getting an undertaking from the subscriber. All these
measures are being implemented as safety measures. This may increase the cost
of DSC.
- Issuance of SOFT TOKEN ceases with immediate effect.
- All DSC download effective 07th Dec 2013 can only be downloaded onto “FIPS CERTIFIED TOKEN”(HARD TOKEN ONLY)
